Education

San Francisco State University
MFA Creative Writing - Candidate

While at San Francisco State, I concentrated on short form scripting which included writing for interactive design, storyboarding, journalism and other forms utilizing scripting as a means of breaking projects down to their basic parts and organizing them into a cohesive flow which is captured by the script and allowed to live. My main focus involved narrative in new media and web technologies.

University of California, Santa Barbara
BA Theater Arts minor in Geology.

UC, Santa Barbara presented me with several unique experiences which made it an ideal choice to round out my undergraduate education.

While at UCSB, I staged a live production of my original work Imagos, curated an University of California interdepartmental arts festival, curated an original works monologue festival and wrote, performed, scored, desdigned and produced an honor's project focusing on performance art theory and practice which culminated in a 3 hour multimedia opera featuring a cast made up of BFA Acting majors and myself.

New York University & Playwright's Horizons
BFA Theater Arts with Emphasis in Design/Direction and Playwriting.

Most of what I know as a creative person was forged at NYU and Playwright's Horizons. They taught me how to create, analyze and critic material from a place of authority. While others taught me how to mimic others, NYU taught me to be an artist and to create my own vocabulary.

While at NYU, I was enrolled in the BFA studio system where I attended Playwright's Horizons for the concentration within my major. All the other studios at NYU were for people trying to become actors but at Playwright's the focus was creating a theater artist who could wear many hats. Studying performance, design, criticism etc., I developed a solid set of skills which I continue to draw from to this day.

R.O.P. Data Processing & IT

During this intensive training program, I was exposed to new technologies and gained a solid understanding of computers, software and programming.
